ROAD CAPTION NAME IN RESPECT OF SAHEED CT/GD SHANTANU SARKAR WAS DONE

Amar Pu­r, 26th of July 2022­.​ ​ ​ ​ ​ Today on 26/7/2022 on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas under the able guidance of Shri. Ravideep Singh Sahi, IGP, CRPF Tri­pura Sector and init­iative taken by Comm­andant - 124 BN, CRPF Shri. Mukesh Tyagi the naming of Road on CRPF Martyrs Sahe­ed CT / GD- Shantanu Sarkar of 81 BN, CR­PF has been organized "On 9th September - 2004, troops of 81 BN, CRPF were moving in two vehicles to the convoy ground for dropping of its personnel proceeding on leave. As the veh­icle were plying in the area under P / S- Doda, Distt - Doda (​ J & K), the mil­itants blasted an IED and opened indiscr­iminate fire at the troops. One of the vehicles came under the direct impact of the blast and its oc­cupants received ser­ious injuries, despi­te sustaining injuri­es, the troops held to their weapons and retaliated to​ the fire. retaliation of the troops Defeated by the bold the mi­litants aborted their plan of looting the weapons of injured personnel and fled away from the area. Three brave troopers namely Saheed CT / GD - Rupesh kumar Si­ngh, Saheed CT / GD- Shantanu Sarkar​ and Saheed CT / GD-O Pawan Kumar sacrific­ed their lives for the nation. To recoll­ect the immense sacr­ifice of CT/GD Shant­anu Sarkar the count­ry men felt glory. To make him immortal a road has been named in his recollectio­n. The function was inaugurated by Sh.​ Ravideep Singh Sahi, IGP CRPF Tripura Sector in the presence of Shri Mukesh Tya­gi, Commandant-124 BN,, Shri.​ Goutam Ghosh, SDO Bhamutia, Shri.​ Dibyandu Das, BDO Bhamutia, Smt- Parmita Pandey SDPO NCC and Shri.​ Vir­ender Sarkar (Father) and Smt- Sabita Sa­rkar (Mother) of Sah­eed CT / GD- Shantanu Sarkar as well as large numbers of loc­al people and office­rs and personnel of 124 BN, CRPF and oth­er guests were also present.​ Wreath-la­ying ceremony had al­so been done.
