Ampi, 16th of April 2023. With the initiative of Mog community of Tripura the ‘Sangari’ or the new year festival of the minority Mog indigenous community has been celebrated with pomp and enthusiasm in Mog dominated Vaishnavpur village of Sabroom subdivision. In previous years the festival used to be celebrated area-wise in different locations of the state but for the first time it has been organized as a centrally event in Vaishnavpur village of Sabroom where a large number of the Mog community people assembled in the programme venue. The newly elected MLA of Manu constituency of Sabroom where Vaishnavpur is located Mailafru Mog said that the festival has formally commenced yesterday and is continuing even today. The MLA said, "We celebrate this festival every year aiming to preserve and protect our various facets of the Mog culture, heritage and history but the interesting thing is that people belonging to all sections come and assemble with us to enjoy this festival and watch it; they notice our people and community culture.with colourful minded" As per the report, many people belonging to the Mog community have come to enjoy and participate in this festival from different parts of the state including other communities too. Locals said that many Mog community people from different parts of the world have also come to enjoy this festival as it is their own community festival. The programme will come to an end this evening after a grand community feast where all community people share the happiness of the Sangrai Festival.
