DG NCC CONFERRED HONORARY RANK

      Amarpur, 26th of June 2024.                         DG NCC conferred Honorary Rank to Prof. Ganga Prasad Prasain, the Hon'ble Vice Chancellor of Tripura University on 26 June 2024 in Tripura University. National Cadet Corps (NCC), Ministry of Defence, Government of India has conferred the honorary Colonel Rank to Prof. Ganga Prasad Prasain, Vice-Chancellor, Tripura University for his numerous contribution to the NCC in the state of Tripura. The honour has been conferred by Brig. Kapil Sood, Group Commander, NCC HQ. Silchar on 26 June, 2024 in the University premises in presence of NCC officers, NCC cadets, faculties, officers and non teaching staff of the University. The honour recognizes the substantial contributions of the academics to the educational sector and seeks to integrate them more closely into the broader national strategic culture. The initiative taken by the Ministry of Defence ,Govt. of India aims to enhance the NCCs presence within the university by appointing Prof. Prasain as Colonel Commandant. This move is designed to inculcate strong values, discipline and patriotism among students, strengthen their commitment to national service and potentially to ease the challenges faced in military recruitment, especially within the officer cadre.
