Tripuraprottoy Correspondent, Dharmanagar:- A dramatic and sensational incident took place in the Dharmanagar District Court this morning. Notorious robber and crime lord Rajibul Alam, who was arrested by the police after many attempts in the early hours of May 31 just a few days ago, escaped from police custody. Incidentally, Rajibul Alam was also accused in the attack on a journalist of the Daily Sangbad in the court premises. When he was brought to the Dharmanagar District Court today for the hearing of the case against him, he took advantage of the mismanagement and escaped from police custody. This incident created a lot of excitement in the court premises and throughout Dharmanagar. There was panic among the common people and there was intense anger over the role of the police. However, the police took action immediately after the incident. The police were able to re-arrest the absconding Rajibul Alam within an hour by conducting a special operation. According to police sources, "Several of their teams immediately went to the field in the event of Rajibul's escape. His location was identified and he was quickly arrested again. The matter of negligence in duty is under investigation. However, the question remains among the common people how a notorious robber could escape from the administration so easily? A section of the local civil society has also raised questions about the police's security arrangements and prisoner protection protocols. Many consider such security lapses in an important area like the court premises to be very worrying.
