BJP Press Conference in Dharmanagar Welcomes the Union Budget

Staff Correspondent, Dharmanagar:Welcoming the Union Budget for the financial year 2026 presented by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on February 1, a significant press conference was held on Friday at the BJP district party office in Padmapur, Dharmanagar, North Tripura district.The press conference was attended by Tripura Government Minister for Industries & Commerce and Prisons & OBC Welfare, Santana Chakma, along with North District BJP President Kajal Das, other party leaders, and workers.Addressing the media, Minister Santana Chakma stated that every year the Union Finance Minister presents the Union Budget outlining the country’s development roadmap for the coming year. Continuing this tradition, the Union Finance Minister presented the Union Budget for the 2026 financial year on February 1.She further said that the budget has been framed keeping in mind Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of building a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India), with clear targets set for the year 2047. Describing it as a people-centric budget, she emphasized that it gives due importance to the interests of all sections of society—the poor, the middle class, and the affluent alike. Highlighting the financial aspects of the budget, the minister informed that the total budget allocation in the previous financial year was ₹50.65 lakh crore, which has been increased to ₹53.05 lakh crore in the current financial year. This reflects an additional allocation of approximately ₹2.81 lakh crore. She expressed optimism that this increased allocation would play a significant role in strengthening education, healthcare services, women’s empowerment, and overall social and economic development.Minister Chakma stated that the budget would further strengthen the country’s economy and help India move steadily towards becoming a developed nation.At the conclusion of the press conference, she extended her gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for presenting a Union Budget that provides a clear and forward-looking direction for the nation’s progress.
